His brown eyes

His brown hair

the way he held my when I cried

I loved him, I really did

He asked me for the first time

If I wanted to get married

I was scared but excited

He was surely right

I loved him, I really did

He brought me flowers

Once I became his wife,

but suddenly he stopped and

His brown hair turned grey

I loved him, I really did

It started on a Tuesday night

Over a simple text

Come over he had said

I went over

I loved him, I really did

The new guy was blonde

it was something fun

something new

I did it without thinking

I loved him, I really did

I came back home,

full of regret and guilt

he met me at the door

a tear trickled down his right cheek

I loved him, I really did

He asked me why I did it

I said I didn’t know

He said we needed part ways

he said blonde looks good on me

I told him I loved him

Because I really did

He chose not to believe me

And he left without looking back

I want to tell him once more

how much I loved him so

I really did love him

I had just made one simple mistake
