Exploring the Granite and Pine Tree States - Part 2

Tricks and Treats:

It was a warmer day, and ice cream was what everyone in the family was craving. Our solution? Tricks and Treats in North Conway- a fantastic ice-cream shop with fantastic scenery. The treats were so delicious that we went a second time! I ordered a S’mores Super Shake which was incredible, and I greatly suggest visiting Tricks and Treats for yourself!

White Mountain National Forest:

Driving and hiking through White Mountain National Forest is the thing to do in New Hampshire. We were on our way to Mount Washington and drove through the National Forest. All we could see were miles and miles of dense woods, and I could only imagine how many animals must be living within the trees. It was such a different experience to drive through this wonderful scenery and appreciate the nature around us!

Mount Washington and Cog Railway:

This was a highlight of my entire vacation: hiking up Mount Washington. Though it was not the easiest hike, it was a great one! I can’t even put into words how impressive the views were and I would do this again any day given the chance. Reaching the summit was so rewarding and the cool breeze was awesome. Other ways to get to the top include, driving with your own car, or taking a Cod Railway to the peak! We ended up taking the Cod Railway back down, and the views were glorious. It took a total of 30 minutes to get back to the base and the parking lot, and it had been a heck of an adventure. I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again- Mount Washington was superb and a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Crawford Notch State Park:

Yet another New Hampshire state park that I highly recommend visiting. Breathtaking sights and lots of wild-life. It has numerous hikes ranging from 5 minutes to multiple hours long and most are easy to moderate. We stopped at the Willey House Historical Site and took many pictures! We also took a short, half-mile walk along the Saco River after crossing it by a bridge that was right by the historical site. It was so much fun, and definitely worth exploring. Plus, we actually encountered a moose on the side of the road and it was so thrilling! I was so happy to have spotted such a big animal, and I hope that others will be able to experience the excitement I felt!

Saco River:

If you ever find yourself at the Saco River, be sure to take a couple short walks along the water and really take in the remarkable sights all around. We walked about a mile along the river and also drove alongside it. It was such a scenic encounter and I was having a blast taking so many pictures!
